डॉक्टर श्री सुधीर भण्डारी जी ने सभी हीमोफीलिया मरीजों को भविष्य में भी एस एम एस हॉस्पिटल से नियमित उपचार की उपलब्धता जारी रहने एवम उसमे ओर सुधार लाने का आश्वासन देते हुए हर मरीज को फैक्टर इंजेक्शन का नियमित उपचार लेते रहने पर भी मार्गदर्शित किया। सही समय पर आवश्यता मात्रा में फैक्टर इंजेक्शन लगवा कर साधारण नार्मल जीवन यापन किए जा सकने की बात को रखा।

हीमोफीलिया मरीजों के हार न मानने तथा विकट परिस्थितियों में भी रोग से लड़ कर अनंतता जितने के जज़्बे की उन्होंने तारीफ भी की। आज 17 अप्रैल 2019 बुधवार के दिन हीमोफिलिया वेलफ़ेयर सोसाइटी जयपुर द्वारा नोवानोरडीक कंपनी के सहयोग से हिमोफिलिया डे सेलिब्रेट किया गया। उक्त अवसर पर हिमोफिलिया के मरीजों ने awareness रैली निकाली। जिसको एस एम एस हॉस्पिटल के प्रिंसिपल तथा कंट्रोलर डॉक्टर सुधीर भंडारी जी ने निर्देशित एवं संबोधित किया। अपने संबोधन में श्री सुधीर भण्डारी जी ने हिमोफिलिया के ज्यादा से ज्यादा प्रचार प्रसार को महत्व देने की बात कही तथा मरीजों से उन्होने नियमित उपचार लेते रहने और अपनी फिटनेस का पूरा ध्यान रखने का आग्रह किया। हिमोफिलिया के मरीजों के कुछ प्रशनो का भी उन्होंने उत्तर दिया।

Being a trustee and Medical consultant of this institute, he has contributed for the care; education & improving of support system to the physically and mentally challenged children of Disha institute.
The Vision of Disha is to create a society that provides equal opportunity for all. While the challenges are numerous, they are not insurmountable. I look back at the year gone by, with great satisfaction for two major reasons, that Disha, through its dedicated activities has shown tremendous results in improving the quality of life of the disabled children. Secondly, the government has shown  interest  on these issues when we witnessed a significant increase of awareness amongst the people towards this most vulnerable section of society.

The biggest achievement is that the research wing is established at Disha. Also the prospect of starting a center for Children with learning disability leaves me excited and hopeful of achievements in this comparatively new concept.

I believe that we will continue to celebrate the milestones and the new beginnings, as we did in the past, and we look forward to many more opportunities in the coming years to rejoice the increasing commitment and success that will take place in the times to come.

‘SAKSHAM’ (STATE OF ART PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE FOR HANDICAP CHILDREN)

CENTRE FOR THERAPIES AT DISHA

The Goal of the Saksham Centre for therapies is to limit the physiological and psychological effects of several & multiple disabilities in children and to improve overall mobility and abilities to perform  day to day activities. We cater to children with cerebral palsy. Developmental disabilities, Hypoxic encephalopathy, Autism Spectrum Disorder,  Genetic disorder, Spina bifida and other congenital neurological disorders.

Saksham has an updated pediatric rehab facility with neuro- developmental therapy, occupational therapy, aquatic therapy, multi-sensory integration, speech & language therapy and audiology.

PHYSIO THERAPY

Physio therapy aims to reduce the detrimental effects of abnormal tone due to spasticity or dystonia. It consists of a stepped care approach beginning with exercises, seating devices, referrals for splinting, corrective casting and surgery. The ambulation programme is directly towards children with the potential to ambulate. Care is also taken for other physical ailments of orthopedic, geriatrics and adult neurological disorders.

OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY

Occupational therapy works as a facilitator for independent living including feeding, mobility, and toileting transferring and environmental hardware. it also works for promoting skill developments activities. Services are also provided to assess and recommend adoptive devices modified for independent living.

SENSORY INTEGRATION THERAPY

This Programme is based on the principle that children with special needs have a deficient sensory processing which can be improving by a co- ordinate programme, consisting of delivery of multiple sensory stimuli to the brain in the form of proprioceptive , kinesthetic, vestibular, visual and auditory signals.

AQUATIC THERAPY

Aquatic Therapy provides therapeutic facilities in the water environment, enabling the beneficiary to achieve many functional milestones which otherwise are difficult to achieve on land. Children with a variety of different disabilities such as cerebral palsy, mental retardation, autism etc participate in the aquatic therapy programme. It may be noted that the pool water is heated to an optimum temperature through the year through solar panels.

SPEECH THERAPY

Speech Therapy Comprises of assessment & rehabilitation of children with speech, language & communication disorder, oro- motor & swallowing difficulties. Cases including early identification are referred from the CSE and home management. Some of the areas of disorders addresses are misarticulation dissiliency, voice disorders and others. Parental counseling for developing & carrying out a home based intervention programme forms an improving aspect of the therapy

CENTER FOR SPECIAL EDUCATION

The centre for special education is the bed rock on which Disha stands. The focus is on educating students with special needs in a specially designed way that addresses individual differences and needs. The process involves individually planned and systematically monitored arrangement of teaching procedures,adapted equipment, materials and accessible settings for students from the age 2 to 30 years. The goal is to enhance the potential of each student till it reaches to their highest ability level.

The centre caters to the following disabilities: Cerebral Palsy Mental Retardation, Down syndrome, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Multiple Disabilities.

To achieve optimum results, the CSE has been categorized into four different groups. Early Intervention, Academics (NIOS), Functional Academics and Recreational Group. Co-curricular activities such as games and sports, art and craft, dance and music. Along with computer and library facilities.

  • Emphasis on Early Intervention progressed to Inclusion of two students in the mainstream school.
  • Emphasis on life skills focusing mainly on personal hygiene and overcoming sexual desires.
  • Introduction of touch screen computers for students which enhances their learning ability making it easy, fun and interesting.
  • Advanced adapted equipments used in therapy department have shown immense progress in the beneficiaries.

CENTRE FOR THERAPIES

The centre for therapies at Disha is rendering rehabilitative services to persons with multiple disabilities through a holistic approach catering to the individual needs of beneficiaries.

With a view to upgrade the therapy services and bring them up to the best national standards several latest physiotherapy machines are added and the speech therapy unit has been upgraded by introducing audiology. Our grateful thanks to Rotary Mid town, Jaipur for their magnanimous financial support which made this up gradation possible.

  • The physiotherapy unit is equipped with new machines like un weighing support system, Treadmill trainer Motomed movement therapy and other hi tech physiotherapy modalities.
  • Ms. Sheela Nanavati a well known highly trained and experienced physiotherapist has joined the centre as a consultant therapist.
  • The Aquatic Therapy at Disha is expanding every day. It mainly focuses on therapeutic facility in the water environment using the water properties which enable the beneficiary to achieve many functional milestones and helps in achieving functional independence.
  • In sensory Integration improvement in self confidence has been seen in a few children. Who are able to use the swing with ease of which they were frightend earlier.

CENTER FOR PRE VOCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

Students between the age group 14-18 years, who have not been able to cope with academics, are introduced to pre vocational training. The focus being on helping them learn functional academics along with pre requisite skills leading to economic independence.

  • Four students from pre vocational unit, promoted to vocational training unit
  • Five students trained to assist the teachers in the classroom activities like feeding, transferring students to other classroom and other related activities.
  • Four students are able to convey messages in the school premises from one person to another.
  • Most of the students are able to play an important role in organizing exhibitions of Disha products.

KITCHEN UNIT

The kitchen is a place to experiment and achieve. Where young adults develop a senes of pride in learning to cook, preparing dishes & various other delicacies

ART & CRAFT UNIT

A place to create beauty through playing with colors where a cluster of activities enhanced students aesthetic needs.

STITCHING UNIT

This unit enables the students to find suitable jobs as per their abilities in different textile related industries. Disha provides them assistance in learning the basic skill required in the above stated field.

SKILL BASED TRAINING UNIT

Here students learn to operate different kinds of motor skills helping them to devlop skills which will make them ready for self employment.

3. Organizing Charitable Camps for the the lesser privileged people since the past 30 Years (Activity of Marudhar Medical Trust):

BEST MEDICAL PROJECT AWARD BY ROTARY INTERNATIONAL

Conducting Rural medical camps for the past 30 years, every month at  ‘JAITARAN’ VILLAGE IN RAJASTHAN with a team of doctors providing all free investigations & medication to the Lesser privileged section of society.The managment also helps in transporting critically ill patients to SMS medical college hospital in Jaipur for all needful services.
It has won the award for the best & longest medical project by Rotary international. We have treated more than 2 Lac patients in rural camps  providing the  best possible  care and treatment.

The Trust is actively engaged in charitable activities, research work and public awareness programmes under the  Guidance of Dr. Sudhir Bhandari. On the  15th of every month Dr Sudhir Bhandari conducts a medical Camp at Jaitaran (Pawan dham) 280 km From Jaipur. A Team of Ten Staff members assemble and the following tests are conducted:

  • ECG
  • Blood Sugar Estimation
  • Bone Densitometry
  • Spirometry
  • All Bio-Chemistry Test 
  • X-Rays
  • Pulmonary Function Test 
  • Biothesiometry Test

Average 400 to 500 Patients come which include Diabetes, Hypertension, Heart problems, Asthma and metabolism syndromes. There are a large number of Geriatric Patients with Osteoarthritis, Backache and COPD.

Once the patient comes, he is thoroughly worked up. The Relevant investigations are conducted and they are given medicines free of cost to a great extent from the trust. All serious  and critically ill patients are brought to S.M.S Jaipur for further investigation from the Trust, thus helping the patients financially.

Clinical Research:

Under the aegis of Marudhar Medical trust, we are doing a lot of Clinical Research, where Dr. Sudhir Bhandari is the principal investigator, Dr. Sudha Mathur and Dr. Barkha Goyal are co Investigators with 4 Supporting Staff members.

Medical & Social Responsibility:

We conduct public awareness programmes for lifestyle diseases, as mentioned below:

  • How to stay healthy in spite of having diabetes, hypertension and heart problem.

  • How to stay healthy in the era of fast food.
    •  
  • Education programmes in the school & spreading awarness  about child obesity, junk food and smoking.

  • Education programmes  in corporate offices, government offices, colleges and Rotary clubs.

During these programmes Blood Sugar, B.P. monitoring & ECGs are done as complimentary. Lots of reading material is distributed  amongst the audience about lifestyle diseases.

The Marudhar Medical Trust is proposing a cardio-diabetes center which will support our charitable activities also.

As a Consultant Internist, Diabetologist and Metabolic Physician in Jaipur, Rajasthan,

Dr. Sudhir Bhandari’s medical experience spans across three decades in the field of teaching and clinical practice. Not only is he a faculty member for national conferences organized by Association of Physicians of India (API), Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India (RSSDI), Diabetes India, and regional conferences such as RAJ APICON but also an active and avid participant of various medical conferences and workshops throughout PAN India. HELPING CHILDREN WITH HEARING IMPAIRMENT

7. Associated With BJS (Bharatiya Jain Sanghatana):

The organization involved in charitable and medical service to the society (Dr. Sudhir Bhandari as an advisor of BJS for all social and medical activities)

One of the major programs of BJS has been the medical camps and plastic surgeries for the persons born with congenital Facial Deformities. Starting these camps from 1990, BJS has restored smiles on the faces of over 200,000 such persons comprising children, youth and old from different parts of India by operating on them and giving them a normal physical look to lead a normal life overcoming physical deformity and social stigma. Medical surveys show that amongst 962 babies born in India, one is born with a deformity. Children born with Cleft Lips, Squint eyes or Facial scars form a high percentage of total deformities. The only method to treat such deformities is to undergo a plastic surgery or corrective surgery. Given the advancement in medical system, and with the spread of medical and health care program in India from rural to semi-urban & urban level, one would think that there are adequate expertise, facilities and the required infrastructure for such deformities to be taken care of through surgical procedures and appropriate medical care. But, unfortunately the reality is different.
